The Garfield School Apartments consists of the historic renovation of the former MPS Garfield School, originally built in 1887, that transformed and adapted all four floors into 30 affordable housing units. The interior renovation reinforced the existing structure, installed all new MEP and fire protection systems, and restored the original hardwood floor, windows, and high ceilings to maintain the historic character of the building.
